Life & Legacy: Create Your Personal Legacy

Anyone, regardless of age, wealth or affiliation, can leave a legacy.

The Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Philadelphia is dedicated to ensuring the long-term sustainability of our local Jewish institutions through endowment-building. That’s why we’ve partnered with the Harold Grinspoon Foundation since 2023 to provide a simple and structured way for organizations in our community to build their endowments. Our cohort consists of 13 synagogues, day schools, and social service providers. 

As of June 2026, the Life & Legacy Philadelphia initiative has generated gifts from 474 individuals and $100.5 million in legacy gifts for our community.

We keep things as simple as possible. If you’re starting to think about—or plan—a gift to an organization through your will or another giving vehicle, you can begin your Life & Legacy journey by completing the Legacy Intention Form. Please email your signed form to legacy@jewishphilly.org

There are many ways to design your gift. Your legacy gift of any size can be customized and structured to fit your dreams, lifestyle, family, and financial needs.

Life & Legacy® is a partnership of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation and the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia that promotes after-lifetime giving to benefit local Jewish day schools, synagogues, social service organizations, and other Jewish entities. By creating a legacy gift through one or more of these organizations, you can preserve the programs and organizations that support Jewish life in Greater Philadelphia, express values instilled in you from previous generations, and perpetuate the Jewish traditions you cherish.
